The application of aluminum-carbon sleeve brick in converter tapping hole has obvious application effect, which is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

I. Significantly prolong the service life

Aluminum-carbon sleeve brick has excellent corrosion resistance, erosion resistance and thermal shock resistance, and can run stably in high temperature environment for a long time. The practice shows that the service life of the tap hole can be increased from 200 heats to 370 heats by optimizing the materials and technology of the tap hole seat brick and sleeve brick. This not only improves the quality of molten steel, but also reduces the amount of slag and production cost.

Although the initial investment of aluminum-carbon sleeve brick may be high, the single use cost is greatly reduced because of its long service life. For example, the cost of a set of aluminum-carbon sleeve bricks is more than 700 yuan lower than that of a set of steel pipes in the same life. In addition, reducing replacement frequency and downtime has also brought remarkable economic benefits.

V. Improving security

The overall structural design of aluminum-carbon sleeve brick reduces the gap and the risk of steel leakage. Compared with the split sleeve brick, the integral sleeve brick is safer to use because there is no gap.

VI. Optimize process and operation

After adopting the aluminum-carbon sleeve brick, the maintenance and replacement process of the tapping hole has also been optimized. For example, by improving the assembly process and replacement process of the tapping hole, the service life of the tapping hole is significantly improved. In addition, optimizing the size and material of tapping hole can further improve its performance.
