Ceramic fiber cotton is a kind of high-performance fire-resistant and heat-insulating material, and its processing involves many fine steps. The following are its main production processes:
I. Preparation of raw materials
The main raw materials of ceramic fiber cotton include high-purity clay clinker, alumina powder, silica powder and chromite sand. These raw materials need strict screening and pretreatment to ensure their purity and quality.
II. High temperature melting
The pretreated raw materials are put into an industrial electric furnace for high-temperature melting, and the temperature usually needs to reach above 1800℃. The melted raw materials form a fluid state, which provides the necessary material basis for the subsequent spinning process.
III. Spinning into fiber
The melted fluid is extruded into fiber by special spinning equipment. Common spinning processes include spinning and blowing:
Spinning method: using high-speed rotating centrifugal shaft to spin fluid into long fiber filaments.
Blowing method: the fluid is blown into short silk by a high-speed spray gun.
The single-thread annual output of the spinning process is higher, and the fiber quality is more recognized by the market.
IV. Fiber collection and finishing
The ceramic fibers obtained by spinning are collected and sorted by a cotton collector to form preliminary fiber cotton. This step needs to ensure the uniformity and continuity of the fiber, laying a foundation for the subsequent treatment.
V. Surface treatment
In order to improve the performance of fiber cotton, it is usually necessary to carry out surface treatment, such as coating silicone or other coatings, to improve the high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance of fiber.
VI. Cutting, molding and packaging
The finished fiber cotton is cut and shaped as required to make products with different specifications, such as fiber blanket, board, paper, cloth, rope, etc. Finally, packaging and storage are carried out to prevent fiber cotton from being polluted and damaged during transportation and use.
VII. Subsequent processing (optional)
For some specific products, such as ceramic fiber board, further processing steps are needed, such as vacuum suction molding and press molding. These steps can improve the density and strength of products and meet higher requirements.
Through the above steps, ceramic fiber cotton can have excellent heat insulation, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties, and is widely used in industrial furnaces, electric power, petrochemical, construction and other fields.
