Specific Application of Refractory Castable

Refractory castable has been widely used in many industrial fields because of its excellent high temperature performance and construction convenience. The following are the specific application scope and practical cases of refractory castable:

I. Metallurgical industry

(1) iron and steel smelting:

Ladle lining: high aluminum-based steel fiber reinforced refractory castable is widely used in ladle lining, which can withstand the erosion and erosion of high-temperature molten steel and significantly improve its service life.

Blast furnace taphole: low cement series refractory castables and ultra-low cement refractory castables are used in high temperature parts such as blast furnace taphole because of their high strength and corrosion resistance.

Hot blast stove: Refractory paint spraying is often used at the top of the ball and inside the furnace shell of hot blast stove, and refractory castable is widely used in the lining of hot blast valve.

(2) Non-ferrous metallurgy:

Electrolytic cell: refractory castable is used as the lining of electrolytic cell, which can resist the chemical attack of electrolyte.

Copper smelting flash furnace: High alumina refractory castable is used in copper smelting flash furnace because of its high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.

II. Building materials industry

(1) Cement manufacturing:

Rotary kiln lining: aluminate cement refractory castable and low cement castable are widely used in the lining of cement rotary kiln, which can withstand high temperature and chemical erosion.

Cooler: heat-insulating refractory castable is used for the heat insulation layer of cooler to reduce heat loss.

(2) Glass manufacturing:

Glass melting furnace: refractory castable is used in some parts of glass melting furnace, which can withstand high temperature and the erosion of glass liquid.

III. Chemical Industry

(1) Petrochemical industry:

Cracking furnace: Phosphate-bonded refractory castable and aluminate cement refractory castable are used as the lining of cracking furnace, which can resist the corrosion of high temperature and chemical media.

Synthetic ammonia plant: Refractory castable is used as the lining of reformer in synthetic ammonia plant, which can withstand high temperature and chemical reaction environment.

(2) Fine chemical industry:

Ethylene furnace: refractory castable is used as the lining of ethylene furnace, which can withstand high temperature and chemical erosion.

IV. Energy industry

(1) Power industry:

Power plant boiler: Refractory castable is used as the lining of power plant boiler, which can withstand the erosion of high temperature and flue gas.

Circulating fluidized bed boiler: Wear-resistant refractory castable is used as the lining of circulating fluidized bed boiler, which can resist high temperature erosion and wear.

V. Other industries

(1) machinery industry:

Induction furnace: refractory castable is used as the lining of induction furnace and can withstand high temperature and mechanical impact.

Heat treatment furnace: refractory castable is used as the lining of heat treatment furnace, which can resist the corrosion of high temperature and chemical medium.

(2) Ceramic industry:

Ceramic baking kiln: refractory castable is used as the lining of ceramic baking kiln, which can withstand high temperature and chemical erosion.

VI. Practical application cases

(1) High strength mullite castable:

In the lining of electric furnace and smelting furnace in a large mining and smelting enterprise, high-strength mullite castable shows extremely high thermal shock resistance and high-temperature stability, which significantly prolongs the service life of the equipment.

In the high-temperature kiln of a cement production enterprise, high-strength mullite castable was used as lining material, which successfully reduced energy consumption and maintenance cost.

(2) Steel fiber reinforced refractory castable:

In the industrial environment that needs to withstand high temperature, mechanical wear and material erosion, steel fiber reinforced refractory castable is widely used in ladle lining, blast furnace taphole and other parts.
