In the process of pouring, the following aspects can be taken to prevent the plug brick from turning around:

I. Optimizing the design and structure of plug bricks

Adopt integral plug brick: the traditional threaded plug brick is prone to "U-turn" accident, while the new integral plug brick integrally forms the joint and refractory through a special mold, which avoids the weakness of threaded connection and effectively eliminates the "U-turn" accident.

Improved connection mode: adopting composite design, using high-purity magnesium oxide material for flow control part and new transitional refractory material for joint part, which can reduce stress concentration and reduce the risk of "turning around".

II. Improving the material properties of plug bricks

Selection of high-quality materials: selecting materials with good oxidation resistance and strong erosion resistance, such as fused magnesia-alumina spinel, can effectively improve the service life and impact resistance of plug bricks.

Optimization of material ratio: In the production of plug bricks, strictly control the material composition, such as reducing carbon content and increasing MgO content, so as to enhance its oxidation resistance and strength.

III. Improving the production process

IV. Optimizing the pouring process

Control pouring temperature: ensure that the temperature of molten steel is moderate, and avoid the sticking of plug bricks and nozzle bricks due to too low temperature, thus causing "U-turn" accidents.

Reduce erosion: by optimizing the flow field design of tundish, reduce the direct erosion of molten steel on plug bricks. For example, using integral retaining wall to repair the impact zone can effectively reduce the erosion rate of plug bricks.

V. Strengthening the management of on-site operations

Correct installation of plug brick: when installing plug brick, ensure that it is firmly connected with plug rod to avoid loosening or falling off due to improper installation.

Regular inspection and maintenance: during use, check the wear of plug bricks regularly and replace the seriously worn parts in time.

Through the above measures, the risk of "turning around" accident in the pouring process of plug bricks can be effectively reduced, and the safety and stability of production can be improved.
