In Which High Temperature Furnaces Are Zircon Powder Commonly Used

Zircon powder is widely used in various high-temperature furnaces because of its high melting point (up to 2500℃) and excellent high temperature and corrosion resistance. The following are the common scenes of zircon powder in high-temperature furnaces:

I. Glass melting furnace

Application: zircon powder is used to make lining materials for glass melting furnaces, such as zirconia corundum bricks and zirconia ramming materials. These materials can withstand the high temperature and chemical erosion in the glass melting process, and at the same time reduce the pollution to the glass melt.

Advantages: zircon powder's high melting point and low expansion coefficient make it perform well in glass melting furnace, which can effectively resist the erosion and erosion of glass liquid.

II. Steelmaking furnace

Application: In steelmaking furnace, zircon powder is used to manufacture ladle lining and continuous casting nozzle. These refractories can withstand the impact and erosion of high-temperature molten steel and prolong the service life of furnace lining.

Advantages: zircon powder's high refractoriness and good thermal shock resistance make it an ideal material for steelmaking furnace.

III. Ceramic kilns

Application: In ceramic production, zircon powder is used to manufacture lining materials of ceramic kilns, such as zirconium refractory bricks and castable. These materials can withstand the high temperature during ceramic firing, and at the same time improve the quality and surface smoothness of ceramic products.

Advantages: zircon powder's chemical stability makes it free from the influence of atmosphere in the process of ceramic firing, which can significantly improve the bonding performance of ceramic body and glaze.

IV. High temperature induction furnace

Application: zircon powder is used to manufacture the lining material of high temperature induction furnace, which can withstand the thermal shock caused by high temperature and electromagnetic induction.

Advantages: zircon powder's low expansion coefficient and high thermal stability make it perform well in high temperature induction furnace.

V. Aluminium smelting furnace

Application: In aluminum smelting furnace, zircon powder is used to make furnace bottom material, which can withstand the corrosion of high-temperature molten aluminum.

Advantages: zircon powder's high refractoriness and good slag resistance make it an ideal material for aluminum smelting furnace.

VI. Other high-temperature furnaces

Application: zircon powder is also widely used in other high-temperature furnaces, such as enamel furnaces and special ceramic sintering furnaces, to manufacture refractory coatings and lining materials.

Advantages: Its high melting point and good wear resistance make it perform well in these high temperature environments.

VII. Summary

Zircon powder has become an indispensable refractory in high temperature furnaces because of its high melting point, low expansion coefficient, good corrosion resistance and chemical stability. It is widely used in glass melting furnaces, steel-making furnaces, ceramic furnaces, high-temperature induction furnaces, aluminum smelting furnaces and other high-temperature furnaces, which can significantly improve the service life and operating efficiency of furnaces.
