Refractory degree and application of high alumina refractory brick
The fire resistance of high alumina refractory bricks is usually between 1750℃ and 1800℃. According to the different content of alumina (Al₂O₃), the fire resistance will be different:
Three-grade high alumina brick (Al₂O₃ content 48%-60%): fire resistance is about 1750℃.
Secondary high-alumina brick (Al₂O₃ content 60%-75%): fire resistance is about 1770℃.
First-grade high-alumina brick (Al₂O₃ content > 75%): the fire resistance can reach above 1790℃.
The fire resistance is mainly affected by the content of Al₂O₃, the types of raw materials and the sintering process. The fire resistance of high alumina brick increases with the increase of Al₂O₃ content.
Because of its excellent refractoriness, corrosion resistance and high temperature stability, high-alumina refractory bricks are widely used in many fields, especially in the steel industry:
Blast furnace: used in the shaft, belly and bottom of blast furnace, which can withstand the erosion of high temperature slag.
Hot blast stove: used for lining of hot blast stove. Its high refractoriness and thermal shock resistance make it an ideal material.
Converter and electric furnace: used in the top and lining of converter and electric furnace, which can resist the corrosion of high temperature slag and molten steel.
Ladle and tundish: used for lining of ladle and tundish to protect equipment from corrosion by high temperature molten steel.
Heating furnace: used for lining of heating furnace to ensure the stability of high temperature environment in the furnace.
In addition, high-alumina refractory bricks are also widely used in lining of high-temperature equipment such as cement rotary kiln, glass melting furnace and ceramic kiln.
The refractoriness and application of high-alumina refractory bricks make them an indispensable material in high-temperature industry, which can effectively improve the service life and production efficiency of equipment.
