The high-purity diatomite brick has excellent thermal conductivity and heat insulation effect. The following information is specific:

I. Thermal conductivity

The thermal conductivity of high-purity diatomite brick is low, usually between 0.08 and 0.15 W/(m k). For example, the thermal conductivity of some high-purity diatomite insulating brick produced by special process can be as low as 0.12-0.14 W/(m k) at room temperature.

This low thermal conductivity is mainly due to its high porosity (usually 80%-90%) and unique nano-scale pore structure, which can effectively limit heat conduction.

II. Thermal insulation effect

High-purity diatomite brick has excellent heat insulation performance, which can significantly reduce heat transfer. In industrial application, using high-purity diatomite brick as heat insulation layer can significantly reduce the temperature of the outer wall of the furnace and reduce the heat loss.

For example, in the 500℃ thermal pipeline of a chemical plant, after using high-purity diatomite filler-based composite thermal insulation material, compared with the traditional mineral wool thermal insulation material, the thickness of thermal insulation layer is reduced by 30%, and the surface heat loss is reduced by 25%, which has remarkable energy-saving effect.

In practical application, the thermal insulation performance of high-purity diatomite brick is better than that of ordinary diatomite brick and some traditional thermal insulation materials, such as perlite products (thermal conductivity 0.07-0.09 W/(m k)).

With its low thermal conductivity and excellent thermal insulation performance, high-purity diatomite brick is especially suitable for industrial furnaces and kilns, thermal insulation layers of high-temperature equipment and other scenes that require high thermal insulation effect.
