High alumina sleeve brick and clay sleeve brick are two common refractory materials, and there are significant differences in chemical composition, performance characteristics, service life and applicable scenarios. The following is a detailed comparison between the two:

I. Chemical composition

Clay sleeve brick: the main component is clay, and the Al₂O₃ content is usually 36%-40%.

It contains more SiO₂ (silicon dioxide), usually 45%-50%.

Other components include a small amount of Fe₂O₃, CaO, MgO, etc.

High-alumina sleeve brick: Al₂O₃ content is high, usually 48%-75%.

The content of SiO₂ is relatively low, usually 15%-25%.

Clay sleeve brick: fire resistance: generally at 1690-1710℃, suitable for ordinary high temperature environment.

III. Service life

Clay sleeve brick: the service life is short, usually about 100-150 times.

It is suitable for the production of common steel grades with low cost.

High aluminum sleeve brick: long service life, usually more than 200-300 times of pouring.

Suitable for high strength and high erosion environment, with high cost performance.

IV. Application scenarios

Clay sleeve brick: suitable for the production of ordinary steel grades, such as carbon steel and low alloy steel.

Suitable for low temperature and weak erosion environment.

High aluminum sleeve brick: suitable for the production of special steel grades such as alloy steel and stainless steel.

Suitable for high temperature and high erosion environment, such as continuous casting tundish and ladle.

V. Price

Clay sleeve brick: low price, suitable for large-scale ordinary production.

High aluminum sleeve brick: the price is higher, but it has long service life and high cost performance.

VI. Appearance and dimensions

Clay sleeve brick: the appearance color is light, usually light yellow or light gray.

Medium dimensional accuracy, suitable for general requirements.

High aluminum sleeve brick: The appearance color is dark, usually dark gray or dark brown.

High dimensional accuracy, suitable for scenes with high precision requirements.
