Sintered mullite brick is widely used as lining material of blast furnace because of its excellent slag resistance and high temperature performance. Mullite brick can effectively resist the erosion of high temperature slag and keep the integrity of furnace lining. In addition, mullite-corundum bricks are also used in tuyere, furnace wall and bottom of blast furnace, which need higher wear resistance and erosion resistance.
In the hot blast stove, sintered mullite is used to make ceramic burners and checker bricks.
