What Is The Fire Resistance of Dense Refractory Bricks in Nonferrous Metal Industry

In the non-ferrous metal industry, the fire resistance of dense refractory bricks is usually high, which can meet the needs of high temperature smelting environment. The following is the relevant information:

I. Fire resistance of ordinary refractory bricks:

The fire resistance of general refractory bricks is between 1580℃ and 1770℃. This kind of refractory brick is suitable for general high temperature environment, but in the smelting of non-ferrous metals, materials with higher refractory may be needed.

II. Fire resistance of high alumina dense refractory bricks:

The fire resistance of high alumina brick is usually above 1770℃. For example, the fire resistance of SK32 refractory brick is 1710℃, while the fire resistance of high alumina brick can reach 1790℃. Because of their high alumina content (usually between 45% and 75%), these high alumina bricks have better corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and are suitable for high temperature areas in nonferrous metal smelting.

III. Fire resistance of special dense refractory bricks:

Some special dense refractory bricks, such as magnesia-chrome bricks, have higher fire resistance, which can reach above 1800℃. This kind of brick shows excellent corrosion resistance and stability in nonferrous metal smelting, especially in the parts that contact with high temperature slag and molten metal.

IV. Fire resistance of dense zirconia-chrome corundum brick:

The fire resistance of this kind of brick is usually above 1800℃, and it has high load softening temperature, good slag erosion resistance and molten metal erosion resistance. It is suitable for key parts of nonferrous metal smelting furnace, such as furnace lining and molten pool.

To sum up, the fire resistance of dense refractory bricks in nonferrous metal industry is usually above 1700℃ to 1800℃, which can meet the requirements of high temperature smelting environment. The specific choice of refractory brick needs to be determined according to the specific needs of smelting process and equipment.
