The manufacturing process of ceramic fiber cotton mainly includes the following key steps:
The main raw materials of ceramic fiber cotton include high-purity clay clinker, alumina powder, silica powder and chromite sand. These raw materials need strict screening and pretreatment to ensure their purity and quality. For example, raw materials need to be crushed, screened and mixed to ensure the uniform distribution of particles.
The pretreated raw materials are put into an industrial electric furnace for high-temperature melting, and the temperature usually needs to reach above 1800℃. This process makes the raw materials completely melt into fluid, which provides the necessary material basis for the subsequent spinning process.
The melted fluid is extruded into fiber by special spinning equipment. Commonly used spinning methods include spinning method and blowing method:
Spinning method: using high-speed rotating centrifugal shaft to spin fluid into long fiber filaments.
Blowing method: the fluid is blown into short silk by a high-speed spray gun.
The ceramic fibers obtained by spinning are collected and sorted by a cotton collector. The cotton collector collects the scattered fibers to form a preliminary fiber cotton. This step needs to ensure the uniformity and continuity of the fiber.
In order to improve the performance of fiber cotton, surface treatment is usually needed. For example, silicone or other coatings are applied to increase the high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance of the fiber.
The finished fiber cotton is cut and shaped as required, and packaged and stored. Cutting and molding can be adjusted according to different application scenarios and size requirements to meet the diverse needs of customers. Packaging and storage can prevent fiber cotton from being polluted and damaged during transportation and use.
Ceramic fiber cotton can be further processed into other products, such as fiber blanket, fiberboard, fiber paper, fiber rope and so on. For example:
Fiber blanket: made by needling, heat setting and other processes.
Fiberboard: made by wet mixing, vacuum filtration, extrusion and other processes.
Through the above process steps, ceramic fiber cotton can have excellent characteristics such as low thermal conductivity, low thermal capacity, good chemical stability and high temperature resistance.
